In this talk, I will explore the digital lifecycle program (DLP) in the development of digital libraries and digital scholarship. In particular, I will examine the roles of organizing, managing, preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage and digital scholarship through a coherent DLP as a most critical component in the sustainable development of digital libraries. In particular, I will discuss the various challenges and imperatives for those developments, with concrete examples and best practices.
